NEW YORK — So Mischa Barton made an appearance on It’s On With Alexa Chung TV show couple of weeks ago. There are four possible sources she could’ve gotten an idea for her red military jacket — Kate Moss, Michael Jackson, historical British army and 1983 romance flick Flashdance. You pick!
NEW YORK – We spotted Mischa Barton when she was walking her dog on Monday (8/17/2009). She wore a purple pocket ombre tank and Nike Distance Tech Capris ($55, was $59 via Zappos). Mischa accessorized with Christian Dior Granville Handstitched Medium Tote in Black (available in silver and black for $2.350 via Bergdorf Goodman) and sneakers.
… Actually at the basketball game at MSG in New York where Indiana Pacers played New York Knicks, earlier this week. Being native New Yorker, actress Michelle Trachtenberg naturally supported her home team.
Michelle also wore piles of jewelry — rings, necklaces, bangles, etc.
Is this a new trend for 2009 brought to us by Hollywood starlets? Maybe yes, maybe not, but it still looks cool.

NEW YORK — We finally identified the source of certain accessories we’ve recently seen on Mischa Barton and on some other Hollywood’s younger trendsetters.
Have you seen Mischa Barton wear this straw fedora? Yes, you’ve seen Mischa wear lots of fedoras as she is a huge fan of them. This particular one by D&Y was seen on Mischa in Los Angeles on February 11, 2009. D&Y Solid Straw Fedora comes in yellow, brown, black and white, and retails for $30.
Mischa also likes David & Young scarves. Photos below (click to enlarge) show Barton wearing red and orange ‘etnic’ Mosaic Print Scarf (retails for $20).
Miley Cyrus has D&Y scarf too. The Hannah Montana star was seen wearing a Red Plaid Muffler scarf (retails for $30) during 82nd Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade held in New York City on November 27, 2008.
Other celebrities spotted wearing D&Y were: Audrina Patridge from The Hills was seen in a red knitted beret (retails for $18). Poor Jenny Humphrey played by Taylor Momsen sported an electric blue knit beret (retails for $18) during this season’s “Pret-A-Poor J” episode of Gossip Girl.

LONDON, UK — After apparent success with handbags, actress Mischa Barton expands into hair accessories business. Mischa has teamed up with designer Stacey Lapidus to create a line of headbands.
Mischa’s always taking advantage of her ability to look good in retro bohemian / hippie apparel and accessories. This helps Mischa market her headbands efficiently. Mischa’s line looks very nice and with individual items priced from $90 to $200 it is currently selling at Stacey Lapidus web site.
We won’t be surprised if Mischa will turn up soon at Constance Billard School for Girls with her headbands as there’s much demand for such accessories.
Um, for those unfamiliar with US TV shows we would like to point out that this school is a fictional private New York Ctiy elite school from Gossip Girl.
