New York — Cast of NINE and scores of other A-list celebrities came out last night to celebrate the New York Premiere of NINE.

Everything went smooth except for Nicole Kidman’s terrible make-up malfunction. Come to think of it, it’s totally not a big deal that Nicole looked like she dove into a pile of coke. We bet Nicole is thinking just the opposite. Nicole probably fired her make-up artist on the spot for ruining her publicity appearance.

Otherwise Nicole looked fabulous in a black strapless puff dress with black floral embellishments (believed to be Prada). Nicole accessorized with Fred Leighton jewels and her favorite Pierre Hardy patent leather slingbacks that she sported on the red carpet couple of times before, including at the Omega store opening on 5th Avenue in NYC in October 2009.

New York — It was interesting to notice how differently Sarah Jessica Parker presented herself to the US and UK audiences. SJP and Hugh Grant (not pictured) premiered Did You Hear About The Morgans? in New York on Monday(12/14/2009), where Sarah Jessica opted for very conservative look consisting of a simple but chic black dress with floral embroidery, Nicholas Kirkwood Fall / Winter 2009 platform shoes and chunky jewels.

SJP looked totally different when she hit the red carpet at the December 8 premiere of Did You Hear About The Morgans? in London. She looked younger and radiant in L’Wren Scott Fall 2009 fuchsia mini dress while her L’Wren Scott Fall 2009 long coat, Charlotte Olympia platforms and a snake necklace added more chic to her look.

NEW YORK — Kate Hudson stopped by Late Show With David Letterman TV Show to promote her latest movie, a star-studded “NINE.” Certainly, Dave did not pass up the opportunity to ask questions about Kate and A-Rod, but those were more like rhetorical questions.

We were surprised a little to see Kate sporting monochromatic style. Kate Hudson, who usually goes for brighter fashion palette, opted for a fabulous black sequin mini dress with long sleeves, which she hid under cashmere Jasmine Di Milo Open Front Coat ($2139 via mytheresa.com – available in size 6UK/XXS) and accessorized with Brian Atwood Wagner Rivet suede pumps ($1485).

LOS ANGELES, CA — Jennifer Lopez attended Michael Jackson’s  This Is It Premiere held on Tuesday (10/27/2009). She looked fantastic in Herve Leger Fall 2009 Beaded Dress [sold out, was $3.800] and knee-high Herve Leger Daniele Stretch Leather Boots. Jennifer accessorized with a black bag, oversized hoop earrings and chunky bracelets.

Strangely enough, Jennifer (or her stylist) decided to diminish very trendy strong shoulder styling on her dress. Guess, J Lo did not want to repeat the runway look, duh! Compare with the thumbnail below.

NEW YORK — Popular MTV Show It’s On With Alexa Chung premiered its second season today. Here, the show’s host, Alexa Chung, is ‘touching’ Gerard Butler. Alexa wore for the premiere Christopher Kane for Topshop Little Black Dress embellished with eyelets ($310). 

Yes, Christopher Kane did really cool collection for Topshop. The collection, which premiered September 18, isn’t dirt cheap, but it is affordable enough to be considered. It differs from Kane’s runway collections.

Christopher Kane also messed about with eyelets. He basically put eyelet embellishment on almost every garment. So, here’s the trend! Oh, and some of the dresses are completely see-through! Here’s another trend  :)

NEW YORK — Jessica Simpson attended the QVC/FFaNY Shoes on Sale event at Frederick P. Rose Hall at Lincoln Center on Tuesday 10/13/2009.

Jessica wore a sequin LBD with bow detail that came from Dolce & Gabbana  Fall 2009 RTW Collection. Neiman Marcus lists the dress for $4695, but it’s currently out of stock.

Jessica paired her sparkly dress with Debista 2 Peep-Toe Pumps ($97.95 at Nordstrom) from her own line of footwear.

PARIS, FR — Rihanna attended Gareth Pugh Spring 2010 show during Paris Fashion Week on September 30, 2009. She wore Gareth Pugh Spring 2010 long sleeve turtleneck mini dress with sheer patches that she accessorized with thick wayfarers and a clutch. Rihanna enjoyed the show, which went beyond Pugh’s typical alien articulation, and later went backstage to congratulate the designer.

UNIVERSAL CITY, CA — Jennifer Aniston made an appearance on The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien on Tuesday (9/15/2009). Dressed in an asymmetrical LBD with long sleeves accessorized with gold bangles, Aniston talked, among other things, about her dream to open Mexican restaurant in New York.

Aniston is not a stranger to restaurant business. Her father once owned a restaurant in NYC. Aniston also worked as waitress for years. By the way, Jennifer Aniston’s all-time favorite NYC restaurant is Babbo in West Village.

So, does New York need another Mexican restaurant given that there are hundreds of them already? Well, guess New York can squeeze in one more.
