It’s been big couple of years for Havaianas. Popular Brazilian flip-flop sandal maker descended upon North America with variety of styles and colors in 2007 and instantly gained celebrity following. That’s because Havaianas had been co-sponsoring The Academy Awards and giving exclusive customized flip-flops to the Oscar nominees since 2003.
Havaianas kept going strong in the summer of 2008 turning into one of the key trends for the season. No wonder, Havaianas looked great, were simple and very comfortable. They were popularized on TV. Celebrities wore them everywhere – while running errands (especially in Los Angeles), playing with kids in the park, or while traveling by plane.
In 2009, Havaianas has teamed up with GAP to chreate a bit cheaper, lesser quality line of flip-flops for GAP. While the original Havaianas are selling at places like Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s and Zappos.com starting from $24, GAP’s Havaianas retail for $18.
Popularity of Havaianas will continue this year reaching high season in June – August. So, we expect a lot of celebs leave their gladiator sandals at home. Here’s who we spotted wearing Havaianas in 2009 so far:

Jennifer Aniston on the movie set of The Baster in NYC in April 2009.

Hilary Duff heading to a Pilates class in Toluca Lake, CA in April.

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus accessorized her black maxi dress with black Havaianas in Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Less than a month ago New York Post reported about The Hills star Lauren Conrad folding her fashion line. Today, Lauren Conrad’s camp looks much brighter as there’s news that her line, LC, has been bought by Kohl’s.
Conrad’s collection will launch in approximately 300 Kohl’s stores in October 2009 and will subsequently expand to all Kohl’s stores. Oh, and the collection will be cheaper with individual items priced between $20 and $60.
Conrad will collaborate on the design of her California-style inspired collection, while Kohl’s will take care of production, manufacturing, distribution and marketing.

LOS ANGELES, CA — TV star and fashion designer Lauren Conrad premiered her Spring 2009 Collection during LA Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on Tuesday, October 14. It is quite a nice collection consisting of 41 looks (up 11 looks from March 2008) which include girly dresses, shorts and tops.
The Collection showed some nice ’70s boho flavour as well as some weird over-sized floral hair accessories. Overall the Collection looks LA and chic — even though we all know that Conrad’s apparel is really an inexpensive one.

NEW YORK — Don’t forget to check out Lauren Conrad’s contemporary apparel collection on your next shopping trip to Bloomingdale’s.
Apparently “WWD” and Bloomingdale’s executives are raving about Conrad’s Fall 2008 collection which is conveniently displayed on the second floor of Bloomingdale’s flagship store on Lexington Avenue in Manhattan just across from Nanette Lepore section. Conrad’s fashion line is stylish and affordable with most items priced under $200. It’s such a hit and is selling out immediately. Production can’t even supply enough to meet growing demand.
Recently there were reports circulating on the Net that Lauren Conrad was not even designer of her own collection. At some point “OK Magazine” even mentioned Sherry Wood as real behind-the-scenes designer. Conrad, however, ferociously denied these rumors and claimed that she was very hands-on and definitely the only designer of her line.
