NEW YORK — Kate Hudson made an appearance on It’s On With Alexa Chung TV Show on Monday (12/14/2009).
WHAT SHE’S WEARING:
3.1 Philip Lim Pagoda Trapeze Coat ($895 — only size 8 left).
Sea New York by Sean Monahan leopard halter jumpuit.
Alexandre Birman snakeskin silver heels.
Kimberley McDonald ring.

NEW YORK — Kate Hudson stopped by Late Show With David Letterman TV Show to promote her latest movie, a star-studded “NINE.” Certainly, Dave did not pass up the opportunity to ask questions about Kate and A-Rod, but those were more like rhetorical questions.
We were surprised a little to see Kate sporting monochromatic style. Kate Hudson, who usually goes for brighter fashion palette, opted for a fabulous black sequin mini dress with long sleeves, which she hid under cashmere Jasmine Di Milo Open Front Coat ($2139 via mytheresa.com – available in size 6UK/XXS) and accessorized with Brian Atwood Wagner Rivet suede pumps ($1485).
All-righty then! It looks like we are going to see lots of faux fur this fall/winter season — especially coats and vests. We are getting a lot of vibe from Where The Wild Things Are. Of course, we will never see as much as a wisp of faux fur on Anna Wintour or Victoria Beckham. But, hey, these ladies ain’t mainstream.
It is rather impractical to own expensive chinchilla or mink coat these days. Ask Jennifer Lopez! Insurance premiums are high, and the giant PETA rabbits are lurking around clutching protest posters and buckets of paint.
Kate Moss‘ Winter Holiday 2009 Collection for Topshop features couple of faux fur jackets. Some conscious celebrities already wore faux fur last winter. Other celebrities are catching up to this trend.
Katherine Heigl, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Kate Hudson all own Juicy Couture faux fur coat. While this style is no longer available, there’s another deserving variation — Juicy Couture Bracelet Sleeve Faux Fur Flounce Coat ($398). There’s also interesting Juicy Couture Faux Fur Vest [sold out, was $298]. We are going to see lots of these furry things.
Whoa, Angelina Jolie was wearing chinchilla hat and cape on the set of her latest movie, Salt!? Actually, Angelina, who is longtime fur foe, was wearing man made fur, not the real thing.

NEW YORK — Lovely Kate Hudson was walking down the street in Manhattan yesterday rocking the latest hot trend in footwear — knee-high boots. This Fall 2009 trend looks really nice when boots are made of luxury leather or suede, and are best teamed with tights and a skirt, leggings or skinny jeans (like Kate Hudson did). Knee-high boots are very popular among Hollywood celebrities. By the way, Christian Louboutin boutique has an amazing sexy knee-highs in windows display right now.
Kate wore a black sheer tee, blue distressed skinny jeans, Alexander McQueen Faithful Large Tote ($1.994, was $2.299 via Zappos) and Giuseppe Zanotti Thigh High Flat Suede Boots ($975 via Zappos).
Check out our little selection of knee-high boots below:

LOS ANGELES — Sometimes it could be really frustrating having to deal with this lag between the time when celebrities wear sample clothes and the time those clothes actually appear in stores. This photo from March 2009 shows actress Kate Hudson wearing sexy LnA Deep Scoop t-shirt [sold out, was $56 at Boutique To You], while departing LAX Airport. She also wore 7 for All Mankind destroyed flare jeans. There’s similar pair of eco-friendly Seven jeans available for $245 via Shopbop. Kate accessorized with Versace 2082-B sunglasses and Jimmy Choo Diane Kid Fringe bag [sold out, was $1495 via Saks 5th Ave in different color -- black].
Maxi dress trend was one of this summer’s key trends, and we thought we’d give this trend one last look before it’s over. There’s this thing though, while retailers mark down and sell out the maxi dresses, the trend does not show any signs of slowing down.
Photo on the left (click the thumbnail to enlarge) shows Nicole Richie launching her jewelry line at Kitson Boutique in Los Angeles back in March 2009. Nicole is the ultimate ambassador of the maxi dress trend. No other celebrity wore maxi dresses as much as Nicole did. Is this because Nicole seems to always be pregnant or because her jewelry, House of Harlow 1960, fits boho style so well?
OK, let’s see who else, besides Nicole and Angie, fancied maxi dresses this summer.
( 1 ) Jessica Alba in T-Bags maxi dress $198.
( 2 ) Jennifer Love Hewitt accessorized her black maxi dress with
Louis Vuitton monogram bag and Jack Parcell Converse sneakers.
( 3 ) Vanessa Minnillo in a floral print tube maxi dress while shopping at
Alice + Olivia Boutique on Robertson Blvd. in Los Angeles in April.
( 4 ) Miley Cyrus in a black maxi dress in Los Angeles in May 2009.
( 5 ) Paris Hilton in Roberto Cavalli floral chiffon maxi dress in Cannes
in May 2009. Net-A-Porter marked it down to $1765 from $3530.
( 6 ) Kate Hudson in Lauren Moffatt Bottom of the Sea maxi dress
in NYC in May ($393).
Some celebrities, like Brittny Gastineau, Nicole Richie (in Paige denim jacket) and Miranda Kerr (in vintage Levi’s jacket and Ray-Ban wayfarers) took the trend further by covering their maxi dress with denim jacket (see photos below).
