New York — Actress Julia Roberts made a guest appearance on ABC’s Live with Regis and Kelly to promote her new film Eat Pray Love on Monday (08/11/2010). Julia wore Helmut Lang Sateen Leggings ($137.50).
New York — Julia Roberts seemed to be in great spirits as she made her way to a visit on The Late Show With David Letterman yesterday (08/04/2010). The Eat, Pray, Love actress wore her usual classic black, but carried a very bright Simone Camille Original Messenger Bag.
ROME, ITALY — As we kept an eye on Julia Roberts filming Eat, Pray, Love in Rome, Italy, it occurred to us that she was wearing a skinny belt in almost every scene. Ummm, we get it, Julia was pushing the skinny belt trend hard enough. But is her effort really going to be noticed? Notorious for her poor fashion judgement, Julia isn’t exactly the style icon. But, nevertheless, this long-running skinny belt trend definitely deserves our attention once again.
Skinny belts were seen all over the Fall 2009 runways. So there’s great opportunity to reuse skinny belts that you may already have in your closet. This great accessory can be worn with practically anything, for styling purposes or to narrow waistline.
Photos below show some ideas of how to wear skinny belts (left to right): holding up Gucci pants, flattering Derek Lam asymmetrical dress, slimming down baggy Lanvin suit.
We looked through our sources for some skinny belt ideas:
ROME, IT — Julia Roberts was on location in Rome filming Eat, Pray, Love on August 31 2009. Roberts sported two fall trends at once — a skinny belt and a short-sleeve cardigan. We will focus on short-sleeve to 3/4 sleeve cardigans for now, and we will feature skinny belts elsewhere.
Short-sleeve cardigans can be worn in a number of ways, but they are most suitable for layering (just like J. Roberts did). Our sources offer variety of styles:
NEW YORK — We saw Julia Roberts on the set of her new film Eat, Pray, Love on Monday (8/3/2009), wearing a black dress, black jacket and black booties. Julia accessorized with a brown python skin clutch and her signature Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses ($129 via Swell). Yeah, Julia always looks the same!
Here, we put together few items that will help recreate Julia’s Eat, Pray, Love look:
NEW YORK — Actress Julia Roberts visited Dave Letterman again (6/9/2009). This time Julia chose nicely textured all-black outfit, as opposed to all-white outfit she was wearing on the show back in March 2009. The key points of the interview were: Dave Letterman’s wedding in March 2009, Julia’s visit to White House back in the day to meet The Clintons, Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men, and lots of laughs (mainly by Julia).
NEW YORK — Actress Julia Roberts attended The Film Society’s 36th Gala Tribute honoring Tom Hanks at Lincoln Center. This time Roberts went far beyond her usual ‘fashion victim’ style. She donned for the occasion a white floral print Dolce & Gabbana dress and black Dolce & Gabbana basic cardigan. Roberts completed the look with the pair of Me&Ro earrings.
NEW YORK — Actress Julia Roberts premiered her latest movie, Duplicity, on Monday, March 16, 2009 at the Ziegfeld Theater in Manhattan.
Julia was wearing a Christian Dior floral dress under a black satin coat by Swiss label Akris. Julia also wore Lanvin satin shoes (Pre-Fall 2009) and Cartier Jewelry.
NEW YORK — Actress Julia Roberts visited Late Show With David Letterman (March 17, 2009) to talk about her new movie, Duplicity. It was very long but fun to watch episode.
Former America’s sweetheart displayed her wits and cursing skils. Roberts also showed once again that she can’t dress. Julia actually looked pretty amazing during the interview when she was dressed in a white two-piece pantsuit, a gray blouse and matching gray pumps.
We thank Jula’s stylist for that.
It was different story when she posted for pictures outside Ed Sullivan theater after the show. Julia was dressed casual in a black embellished Dries Van Noten coat and navy blue jeans which she accessorized with her signature Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses, blue patent leather belt and a tan Tod’s shoulder bag. This outfit did not work for Julia at all. Click the thumbnails below to see for yourself.
NEW YORK — We caught up with Julia Roberts outside the Ritz-Carlton on March 7. Julia combined her black SLEEVELESS p-coat with a grey ombre scarf and an oriental bag (Julia is big fan of India).
