NEW YORK — After getting hot and heavy with model Helena Christensen for Harper’s Bazaar photoshoot, “The Gossip Graduate,” Ed Westwick chills out with his Gossip Girl co-star and real-life girlfriend Jessica Szohr. The couple enjoyed themselves and some Budweiser Light while watching basketball game Los Angeles Lakers vs. New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden earlier this month.

Ed Westwick’s star is rising. He’s getting more product deals and participating in more photoshoots thanks to Gossip Girl. Never mind all that, we like Westwick’s down-to-earth looks and behavior. Here, Westwick is wearing a brown leather jacket paired with a brown polo shirt. There were plenty of leather jackets on Spring and Fall 2009 runways — especially from Emporio Armani and Costume National (like the one on the right).

P.S. We were informed that Ed is actually wearing a Billy Reid jacket.

NEW YORK –  Check out Teen Vogue web site for behind the scenes look at Ed Westwick Teen Vogue March 2009 fashion photo shoot. 

In an exclusive interview the 21-year-old Gossip Girl bad boy revealed plans to start a musical movement in New York. Perhaps he was talking about putting together another rock band as his old British garage rock band The Filthy Youth is now defunct (they actually played pretty cool music).

During the interview Westwick called his personal style casual and cool. He said that his style is influenced by musical art – by different forms of music. Fashion house of Dior has come up with an interesting form for sunglasses for their Homme SS09 collection. Now we are wondering if these sunglasses are destined to replace wayfarers as the ’it’ accessory of 2009. NEW YORK – Katie Holmes was recently seen out and about with her daughter Suri Cruise. Katie donned for the occasion a vintage style 7 For All Mankind flared jeans. The 30-year-old actress has been persistently wearing that ’70s boho look throughout 2008.

Brad Pitt is another major star who on many occasions looked like a detective from the ’70s.

 Vintage style worked very well for both stars although the trend went largely unnoticed.

2008 was definitely a big year for vintage looks with the focus being on the 1930s and 1940s. People were asking sales associates at Barneys NY and Bloomingdale’s for hats similar to those worn by Angelina Jolie in Changeling or by Jessica Biel in Easy Virtue. Designer Marc Jacobs showed vintage looks on his runways in 2008 as well.
