Kim Cattrall and Miley Cyrus shone in matching Matthew Williamson sequin metallic mini dresses while filming Sex And The City 2 (to be released on May 27, 2010) back in October 2009. When it comes to look super glamorous by night, many celebrities resorted this spring to this dazzling sequin metallic trend.
Jennifer Aniston (at London premiere of Bounty Hunter in March) hid Valentino Fall 2009 Couture mini dress under an elegant one-button strong shouldered Alexander McQueen blazer. Her Jimmy Choo sandals were a perfect match! Also in March, Kristen Bell sported Stella McCartney Resort 2010 dress with Jimmy Choo open-toe shoes at the 12th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills.
Selena Gomez appeared on a Spanish TV show in April dressed in Alice + Olivia Strapless Dress ($485) with sequined metallic bustier. Selena’s BFF, Demi Lovato wore David Meister mini dress [sold out] to the 18th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Party in March.
Olivia Wilde and Charlize Theron both sported sequin metallic dresses at the 24th Annual American Cinematheque Award on March 27, 2010 in Beverly Hills, CA. Olivia wore skin tight Moschino dress while Charlize stunned event goers with her ombre Givenchy dress which she paired with Stella McCartney boots.
Jennifer Love Hewitt looked golden sparkling in her 3.1 Phillip Lim dress and Yves St. Laurent sandals at the opening of Esprit Flagship Store in New York back in March. While Dakota Fanning looked pretty cool in Valentino Fall 2009 Couture mini dress and Salvatore Ferragamo pumps at the premiere of The Runaways in Hollywood in March. Interestingly enough, Dakota’s dress was modified from its original runway version to remove feather detail from the shoulders making the dress simpler and more appropriate for Dakota’s age.
Vanessa Hudgens wore Allsaints Spitalfields mini dress and Sergio Rossi peep-toe heels for the Closing Night Ceremony for the 2010 edition of SHOWEST held at The Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 18, 2010. And Eva Longoria-Parker went with Oscar de la Renta tube mini dress at the 2009 ALMA Awards in Westwood, CA.

All-righty then! It looks like we are going to see lots of faux fur this fall/winter season — especially coats and vests. We are getting a lot of vibe from Where The Wild Things Are. Of course, we will never see as much as a wisp of faux fur on Anna Wintour or Victoria Beckham. But, hey, these ladies ain’t mainstream.
It is rather impractical to own expensive chinchilla or mink coat these days. Ask Jennifer Lopez! Insurance premiums are high, and the giant PETA rabbits are lurking around clutching protest posters and buckets of paint.
Kate Moss‘ Winter Holiday 2009 Collection for Topshop features couple of faux fur jackets. Some conscious celebrities already wore faux fur last winter. Other celebrities are catching up to this trend.
Katherine Heigl, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Kate Hudson all own Juicy Couture faux fur coat. While this style is no longer available, there’s another deserving variation — Juicy Couture Bracelet Sleeve Faux Fur Flounce Coat ($398). There’s also interesting Juicy Couture Faux Fur Vest [sold out, was $298]. We are going to see lots of these furry things.
Whoa, Angelina Jolie was wearing chinchilla hat and cape on the set of her latest movie, Salt!? Actually, Angelina, who is longtime fur foe, was wearing man made fur, not the real thing.

Photos above show Lady Gaga at LAX Airport on August 24, 2009 and in Toronto, Canada in late June 2009 revealing way too much skin. This is rather common trick among celebrities, including A-listers, to letting their skin work a little PR magic for them.
There’s hot trend this fall, the Boudoir Crossing, which gives us a glimpse of feminine mystique. The trend is also a little sister of GLAMOUR itself, and it allows reinvent your look without restocking your closet. Simply put, Boudoir Crossing brings to the surface what was once hidden from the eye.
Laced up corsets, bustier dresses, peek-a-boo bras, lace trims, leather, feathers and sheer inserts are all attributed to this trend.
So let’s see who the big fan of Boudoir Crossing in Hollywood is.
Ashlee Simpson-Wentz wore a black leather bustier dress to a recent event. Interesting thing about Ashlee’s look is that it combined male and female elements, with leather being masculine and bustier cut being womanly. This is another raving fall trend echoing from the 1980s.
Rihanna’s orange bra played peek-a-boo outside Philippe Restaurant in NYC on June 30, 2009. Then, Rihanna wore lingerie revealing Elizabeth and James Dread cardigan to The Black Eyed Peas concert in NYC on June 10, 2009. Rihanna also proudly displayed her lingerie under white Brian Reyes vest in London on May 29, 2009. Finally, Riri wore a corset under her pink cardigan in NYC back in May 2009.
The picture above that came from He’s Just Not That Into You shows Jennifer Aniston wearing a long draped cardigan in the scene at her father’s house after he had a heart attack.
Back in 2007 when He’s Just Not That Into You was filming, draped cardigans were barely around. Draped cardigans, however, became one of the hottest trends in the making after this movie was released in February 2009. This is such a perfect example of how designers like to be inspired by Hollywood movies.
Jennifer Aniston is also notorious for interlacing her personal style with her on-screen style. It’s very common that Aniston wears a pair of her own jeans while filming a scene or takes home a warm and comfy cardigan she used on location.
Draped cardigans have been part of Aniston’s personal and professional wardrobe for a while now, and, given Aniston’s appeal, we can say that she contributed great deal to putting the draped cardigan in your closet.
We personally like aesthetics of this garment, and we believe that the draped cardigan should definitely end up in your closet this fall. And there are plenty of variations and colors to choose from. See for yourself below:
Patterson J. Kincaid ‘Hamptons’ Open Front Cardigan $57.90, was $88 at Nordstrom.
Bop Basics Pointelle Cashmere Draped Cardigan [sold out, was $280] via shopbop.
Bop Basics Cashmere Drape Cardigan $132.50, was $265 via shopbop.

Military style jackets with frogging embroidery, which were the staple of Michael Jackson’s concert wardrobe and were commonly used as officer’s uniform in many armies around 18th century through early 20th century, became one of the hottest trends in 2009.
The style was brought back by Christophe Decarnin for Balmain Spring 2009 Collection and re-interpreted by many other designers for Spring and Fall 2009. The trend was further fueled by Michael Jackson untimely passing away, which created real demand for military style he loved so much.
Photo above shows Jackson’s military style jackets that he wore at different times: (front row, L to R): Hollywood Walk of Fame Black Sequin Jacket; Red sequined jacket; Sequined jacket from the Victory Tour; (back row, L to R): Black Faux Leather Jacket worn to a 1998 press conference regarding plans for proposed theme park Majestic Kingdom; Military Jacket worn to the 26th Annual NAACP Image Awards; Black and Red Military Jacket; Red Sequin Jacket worn during the making of “What More Can I Give;” Black and Gold Jacket worn at a 1993 press conference with Nelson Mandela; Silver Sequin Jacket from the Victory Tour.
While Balmain jackets are extremely expensive finding limited audience including celebrities, we wanted to present less expensive alternatives. So here’s what we dug up:
AKA New York Admirals Jacket $227.50, was $325 via shopbop.com
BB Dakota Lombard Jacket $75 via Boutique To You.
