Military style jackets with frogging embroidery, which were the staple of Michael Jackson’s concert wardrobe and were commonly used as officer’s uniform in many armies around 18th century through early 20th century, became one of the hottest trends in 2009.

The style was brought back by Christophe Decarnin for Balmain Spring 2009 Collection and re-interpreted by many other designers for Spring and Fall 2009. The trend was further fueled by Michael Jackson untimely passing away, which created real demand for military style he loved so much.

 PASADENA, CA — Actually, Jennifer Lopez isn’t pregnant at all, she just wore prosthetic pregnant belly on the set of her latest movie, The Back-Up Plan. Jennifer also wore an ABS by Allen Schwartz Silk Chiffon One Shoulder Dress with Rose Embellishment ($395 at Bloomingdale’s). So, this dress perfectly qualifies as maternity dress. Jennifer accessorized with nude Christian Louboutin shoes, just like these CL Papilipi shoes in fuschia selling for $381.75 @ Barneys.

Then, last Thursday (6/18/2009) Jennifer Lopez filmed a scene with co-star Alex O’Loughlin. During the first date romantic dinner, Alex stained Jennifer’s stone embellished mini dress (shown below) with red wine and set it on fire (not shown). What a first date, ugh!

NEW YORK — We would crave for a dress if we saw a large number of celebrities wear it, right?  So, what’s the most celebrity worn designer? Marc Jacobs or Versace, perhaps? Herve Leger  would be another great example.

Herve Leger dresses by Max Azria are sexy and chic and are well recognizable for their signature bandage structure. There’s a little problem, though — most women can’t really afford them.

We are sure that people who want to wear Herve Leger look but don’t have budget for it would appreciate knowledge that there are plenty of HL imitations to look for. You don’t even have to get counterfeit dresses from China. There are reputable labels that offer similar bandage styles. Just Google it! We found a few dresses to get you started.
