Excitment of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, which began yesterday, is greatly dimmed by the death of British fashion maven Alexander McQueen. He was found dead this morning at his London home. McQueen reportedly took his own life.

New York — Natalie Portman, who is currently in town shooting her ballerina movie, Black Swan, wore Rodarte for Target dress to a recent event. And we really liked the way Natalie styled her dress with a black belted jacket, black tights and black heeled boots. What’s up with her makeup though?
There’s charity auction hosted by Clothes Off Our Back featuring Theory blazer that was worn by Jennifer Aniston in her upcoming movie, The Bounty. The blazer is size 2 and it has an inscription on the lining that was made by Aniston. Precious!
The auction is at $175 right now and will continue for another 11 days. There’s plenty room to bid. Similar Theory blazers retail for $300-$550.
Proceeds will benefit the following organizations Feeding America, the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA, Malaria No More and Hope North.
Whitney Houston’s “Million Dollar Bill” music video premiered on YouTube on Wednesday (9/16/2009), and we happily recognized one of Whitney’s dresses. Photo on the left shows Houston in Proenza Schouler Pre-Fall 2009 sequin dress with shoulder cutouts.
While we were unable to locate the dress in purple (just like in the video), we found the black dress for $1067.50, was $1525 at La Garçonne. We also found one in blue at Zoe for $1610, was $2300.

NEW YORK - Britney Spears took her son to lunch at Sushi Damo on August 27, 2009. Brit slipped into ’something more comfortable’ for the occasion. NEW YORK — Actress Rumer Willis visited Late Show With David Letterman on Tuesday (9/1/2009) to promote her new horror flick Sorority Row. Dressed in a girlie white dress with cutouts teamed with a floral hair accessory, Rumer talked about her mom, dad, and step-father, Ashton Kutcher.
We guessed Rumer’s dress as modified Zac Posen Resort 2010. See the thumbnail on the right. Rumer teamed her dress with Sergio Rossi patent leather pumps. Zappos has the shoe [sold out, was $263].
Rumer recently celebrated her 21st birthday the old fashioned Las Vegas way, gamblin’ and drinkin’.
Rumer was supposed to appear on the show on Monday night but was bumped last minute to Tuesday night. This happened because Howie Mandel and dog tricks competition segments went too long!??
NEW YORK — Anne Heche made an appearance on Late Show With David Letterman on Wednesday (8/26/2009). Anne wore a lovely LBD with scalloped shoulders. The dress is called Belted Dress with Antique Gunmetal Trim, and it’s by Catherine Malandrino [sold out, was $495]. Anne also wore Valentino patent peep toe shoes and Martin Katz jewelry.
Anne Heche looked right on trend in her LBD. That’s Hot! Can we say that? Nah, there’s at least 14 ‘That’s Hot’ trademarks filed with US Patent & Trademark Office, including 3 filings by Paris Hilton. So, we’d better get cranking to come up with own catch phrase.
By the way, Anne likes wearing LBDs. She wore one to the LA premiere of Spread earlier in August.
LBDs are hot again this season. It’s like a transformer dress — wear it with a belt and a cardigan by day, then leave the belt and cardigan at your office and party all night…
NEW YORK — We snapped Britney Spears looking happy as a clamp on top of double decker bus on Monday (8/24/2009) in Times Square where she gave away two front-row tickets to her NYC Circus show. What can we say, we did not like Britney’s dress…
