Maxi dress trend was one of this summer’s key trends, and we thought we’d give this trend one last look before it’s over. There’s this thing though, while retailers mark down and sell out the maxi dresses, the trend does not show any signs of slowing down.
Photo on the left (click the thumbnail to enlarge) shows Nicole Richie launching her jewelry line at Kitson Boutique in Los Angeles back in March 2009. Nicole is the ultimate ambassador of the maxi dress trend. No other celebrity wore maxi dresses as much as Nicole did. Is this because Nicole seems to always be pregnant or because her jewelry, House of Harlow 1960, fits boho style so well?
OK, let’s see who else, besides Nicole and Angie, fancied maxi dresses this summer.

Some celebrities, like Brittny Gastineau, Nicole Richie (in Paige denim jacket) and Miranda Kerr (in vintage Levi’s jacket and Ray-Ban wayfarers) took the trend further by covering their maxi dress with denim jacket (see photos below).
LOS ANGELES, CA — Zac Efron likes basketball. Here, the 21-year-old actor seen arriving at the Staples Center to watch his favorite team, LA Lakers. Zac was dressed in a Members Only vintage racer jacket ($78), a white tee and Nudie Jeans Grim Tim jeans ($249). He accessorized with Persol 0649 shades ($231) and white sneakers.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Sacha Baron Cohen’s comedy character, Bruno (like the Austrian Zac Efron) was the highlight of the 2009 MTV Movie Awards yesterday when he descended upon the audience and somehow managed to settle his bare tush on Eminem’s face. Yeah, Bruno totally stole the show with his gag! The look on Eminem’s face was priceless — he was shocked, disgusted and then walked off.
Was it staged? Heck, yes! Sacha Baron Cohen needs all publicity he can get for his Bruno movie which opens July 10. Emenem, in turn, also needs lots of publicity to sell his comeback album, Relapse, albeit it’s No. 1 already.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Singer Rihanna arrived back to Los Angeles from London yesterday. Riri was wearing a Dallin Chase Jasper jacket ($598 at Singer22), a white tank top, Alexander Wand pocket sweatpants ($325 at Shopbop) and grey suede boots. Wearing a biker leather jacket will be one of the key trends this fall.
NEW YORK — Madonna is spending a lot of time with her new boytoy Brazilian model Jesus Luz. We caught this odd couple this past Saturday strolling around Central Park West near Madonna’s apartment building. Madonna looked nice and chic in her denim coat, flared jeans and plaid fedora.

We eyed her in a grey cardigan vest, white tank and blue jeans that she accessorized with some Dogeared jewelry (black peace charm bracelet), Minnetonka fringe moccasin boots ($100 at Net-A-Porter or $88 at Urban Outfitters) and white Louis Vuitton Mahina bag ($2740).
LOS ANGELES, CA — Justin Timberlake had dinner date with girlfriend Jessica Biel (not pictured) at Magnolia Restaurant last night. Justin wore for the occasion a William Rast military shirt and splatter painted jeans from Fall 2009 Collection.
JT has been wearing WIlliam Rast clothes a lot lately — he co-owns the brand. He made girlfriend Jessica wear them too — or she volunteered. This made us wonder whether Justin is being totally practical or is he a shameless promoter? What do ya think?
