Quite a few people e-mailed us asking about Sandra Bullock’s wide trouser pants that she wore on the set of The Proposal. Naturally, there’s no chance to locate the original item (even if it was RTW) as the scene was shot back in April 2008. So, we thought we’d check our sources for similar styles — HTH.
Picture above shows Beyonce Knowles on May 8, 2009 in Berlin, Germany. Beyonce wore a $309 Madison Marcus Absolute Degrade Racerback Layered Tank in Dune [sold out].
NEW YORK — Model Heidi Klum took her children to a play ground in Manhattan last Tuesday (6/23/2009). Heidi was wearing a blue accented leopard print top, black jeans and grey strappy sandals. While we are unable identify Klum’s top at this time, we can report that Forever 21 has couple of items matching the print — Leopard chiffon top $19.80 and Bow Front Leopard dress $39.
The 36-year-old Kluminator, who is expecting her fourth child (a daughter), is due in October 2009.
NEW YORK — We spotted Rihanna last week while she was out and about in the Big Apple. The 21-year-old singer left her hotel and headed to Upper East Side for dinner at Scalinatella. Rihanna wore a pair of starry Giuseppe Zanotti booties, and the shoe designer to the stars, Zanotti, was pleased about it.
RiRi was also dressed in a striped Elizabeth and James Laurent shirt (here’s similar E&J shirt for $188) and Current/Elliott legging jeans (or denim leggings). Rihanna’s jeans retail for $230 at Net-a-Porter.
Here, Rihanna is pictured with her assistant and BFF Melissa Forde.
NEW YORK — Actor Johnny Depp made an appearance on Late Show With David Letterman on Thursday (6/25/2009) to promote his latest movie, Public Enemies. It was quite an interesting interview packed with lots of detail about Johnny’s off-screen life. Depp talked, among other things, about his kids, his French neighbors, his island in the Bahamas and his 150 feet boat.
Depp also revealed that he does not watch his own movies. He said, “…you know, in a way, once my job is done on a film, it’s really none of my business…” Depp went on to saying that he does not like watching himself and prefers to stay as far away from the final product as he possibly can. Watch video clips below.

NEW YORK — Se spotted Disney star Selena Gomez (in See by Chloe jacket, Gold Hawk Fall 2009 beaded cutout top & Stephen Webster jewelry) shopping at Armani Exchange store in SoHo last week. Here’s what we suggest for Selena’s look for less.
By the way, Leighton will be hosting the F Word Party and will preview tracks from her upcoming album at Santos Party House in New York on Saturday, June 27. Yes, Leighton’s singing electro pop dance sort of music! There’s Cobra Starship single, ”Good Girls Go Bad,” featuring Leighton Meester, and Leighton sounds pretty good, albeit not impressive enough.
Leighton’s debut album will be released by Universal Republic Records this Fall. Good luck, B.
NEW YORK — Jennifer Lopez (shown here in Temperly London emerald dress and black Azzedine Alaia sandals) is too busy making babies and movies to keep her clothing line(s) alive. Or is it because of rough economic times? Jennifer, who is currently filming romantic comedy The Back-Up Plan, has shut down her Sweetface clothing line. Company’s spokesperson said, ”In light of some new company strategies, we have decided to put the Sweetface line on hiatus while we prepare to reintroduce the brand in the near future with new messaging points and an entirely new fashion point of view.”
Jennifer’s path in fashion was the rocky one. Here’s brief timeline of Jennifer’s career in fashion:
2001 — Lopez launched her first clothing line, JLO. Headquartered right across 6th Avenue from Bryant Park, JLO was much hyped but never gained acclaim.
2003 — Lopez launched Sweetface as urban streetwear spin-off of the JLO brand. Sweetface later evolved into a chic line.
2006 – Sweetface brought in $200 million.
2007 – Distribution of JLO apparel in the U.S. stops. Lopez created justsweet clothing line as the successor to JLO that catered to juniors market. Justsweet debuted in Fall 2007 during NY Fashion Week. While justsweet did not last beyond 2008, the JLO line is still selling in 40 countries around the world.
2009 — Lopez pulled the plug on Sweetface. There will be no Fall 2009 collection. Whatever is left of the line is selling in stores right now.
Sandra Bullock’s latest romantic comedy, The Proposal, earned more than $35 million since its opening on Friday (6/19/2009) making it for Bullock the #1 movie in 10 years, and her best opening ever.
We were wondering about Sandra Bullock’s wardrobe having a distinct vintage look, and costume designer Cat Thomas, who styled Bullock for the movie, had a perfect explanation for us. Bullock’s character, Margaret Tate, is a powerful woman — very uptight and strict. Her clothes is her armor — the tighter, the stronger and hardened, the better. There was a need for a structured silhouette, and Bullock’s wardrobe was inspired by the silhouette of the ’40s, as worn by Katherine Hepburn and Rosalind Russell.
“There was nothing that we could pull from a department store,” Thomas recalls. “Designing for Bullock’s character was about building every piece of clothing for this powerful woman who is very confined. Everything was about her power, yet had to be feminine at the same time.”
Bullock’s pencil skirt was purposely made longer so that she would be more nipped in and would have to alter the way she walked.

PASADENA, CA — Actually, Jennifer Lopez isn’t pregnant at all, she just wore prosthetic pregnant belly on the set of her latest movie, The Back-Up Plan. Jennifer also wore an ABS by Allen Schwartz Silk Chiffon One Shoulder Dress with Rose Embellishment ($395 at Bloomingdale’s). So, this dress perfectly qualifies as maternity dress. Jennifer accessorized with nude Christian Louboutin shoes, just like these CL Papilipi shoes in fuschia selling for $381.75 @ Barneys.
Then, last Thursday (6/18/2009) Jennifer Lopez filmed a scene with co-star Alex O’Loughlin. During the first date romantic dinner, Alex stained Jennifer’s stone embellished mini dress (shown below) with red wine and set it on fire (not shown). What a first date, ugh!
